The GEL biweekly web show “State of Esports” will be distributed on GPB platforms starting this summer. And GPB and Ghost Gaming will collaborate on other educational content and in-person activations relating to gaming and esports.
“Gaming and esports are a gateway to education, STEM project-based learning, and workforce development,” said Todd Harris, Ghost Gaming CEO. “GPB’s broadcasting reach extends across the entire state, as does their reputation for high-quality educational programming. So we are thrilled to partner with GPB to create and distribute esports educational content from the Georgia Esports League.”
The state of Georgia leads the nation when it comes to education-based esports initiatives. Georgia was one of the first five states to adopt esports as a varsity high school sport and there are currently 175 high schools with varsity esports programs.
